Emily Waddington, M.S., CCC-SLP
My name is Emily Waddington, and I am a certified Speech-Language Pathologist offering early intervention speech & language support for children birth-4 years. While I offer valuable early intervention services to all children with communication needs, I have specialized expertise in providing support for Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing (D/HH) children and their families.

My mission is to provide evidence-based, neurodiversity affirming, individualized & child-centered intervention to young children and their families in order to best support their speech-language development & communication needs.

Emily's
Background

Emily is a speech-language pathologist who has experience working with children ages birth-17 years with a range of speech and language needs.
Emily's experience and passion primarily falls in the area of early intervention (birth-4 years), with a specialized passion in working with Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing children. She believes strongly in the power of early intervention, as well as the life-changing impact of a team-based approach. The combination of thorough evaluation measures, evidence-based practice, parent coaching, play-based/child-led therapy, and ongoing collaboration is key to facilitating early communicative, and thus ultimately, lifetime success.

Emily received her BA in Hearing & Speech Sciences from the University of Maryland and her MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of South Florida. She is currently licensed in FL and holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. She has years of experience working with young deaf and hard-of-hearing (D/HH) children in facilitating speech, language, & communicative development. She strongly believes in a "language first" approach for these children, in order to ensure that each child has access to robust language, and is committed to mitigating
for these children who too often fall victim in the first few critical years of their development.
Emily also has a great deal of experience working with autistic children, late talkers, and early communicators. She takes a neurodiversity approach to her therapy model and is committed to following each child's lead in determining their preferred mode of communication and how to best support them.
